About Lonnie BrennanPublic Service Lonnie began his public service in the City of Salem, MA where he was elected as the youngest person to have ever served on the School Committee. Active in his class in high school, when Lonnie graduated from college, he stepped forth to give back to the community where he was raised in a family of six children: older brothers Frank and Scott, twin sisters Heidi and Holly, and youngest sister Kelly. Lonnie is the son of the late Lawrence Brennan and Ruth Brennan. His father was a war veteran and served in the U.S. Postal Service in Salem. His mother raised six children and recently retired from the Salem School systems where she worked as clerical aide during the school year and a special education aid e each Summer session. She cared for thousands of "her children." For eight years he challenged the schools to do better, and worked with students, parents, teachers, and the administration to demand the best for every child. Fast forward, after many years of volunteer work, Lonnie recently completed his term as a member of the Board of Selectmen in Georgetown where he was outspoken in his defense of all members of the community, not any clique or age bracket. He worked with his colleagues to balance all sides of each issue. He served with no fear, and no favortism, refusing to take the easy path, and instead taking difficult positions to ensure balance. Personal Married for 20+ years to Dianne Brennan, Lonnie is a proud father of three children, all educated in the public school system.
